The best currency to carry is plastic which is generally accepted everywhere. You may wish to keep a few Euro or US $ in cash and small denominations to use as tips whilst ashore. The shipboard currency is Euro. You will be asked to give an imprint of your credit card when checking in for your cruise. This will enable you to be cashless whilst onboard with any purchases, including excursions billed to your cabin. Your final bill will be presented to you the evening before your return to Barcelona and must be settled prior to disembarkation the following morning.

You will never be hungry whilst onboard an MSC cruise. Apart from your main restaurant, which you can use for breakfast, lunch and dinner, there is a buffet open 20 hours every day! In addition you can enjoy the speciality restaurants onboard which are great for that special occasion.

We recommend that you use this unique opportunity to sample the local specialities in our ports of call Every port brings its own delicious reason to go ashore. In Marseille, tuck into bouillabaisse, Provençal seafood and a glass of chilled rosé; Genoa is the home of pesto, focaccia and wonderful Ligurian seafood; while Naples is the undisputed birthplace of pizza, best enjoyed simply and traditionally. In Palermo, expect a wonderfully vibrant mix of Sicilian flavours, from arancini and pasta alla Norma to fresh seafood and cannoli. And in La Goulette, the gateway to Tunis, discover Tunisian specialities such as couscous, brik and spicy harissa – a fascinating blend of Mediterranean and North African influences.

There is a great array of shopping opportunities onboard but don’t forget that each port offers a very different shopping experience. Marseille is great for Provençal soaps, colourful fabrics and local delicacies, while Genoa offers elegant Italian fashion, leather goods and tempting food specialities. In Naples, browse the lively streets for leather, ceramics, tailoring and quirky souvenirs, while Palermo is perfect for discovering Sicilian crafts, jewellery, food products and bustling markets. At La Goulette, head towards Tunis for traditional Tunisian handicrafts, ceramics, carpets, leatherwork and distinctive gifts – with plenty of opportunity to practise the art of bargaining.

Use the safe in your cabin to store your valuables and do not take large amounts of cash, expensive jewellery or watches on shore. The ports of call you will be visiting are all considered as safe but remain vigilant at all times. Stay where there are people walking, gathering, eating and drinking and avoid areas where any political rallies may be being held.

You must bring with you a valid passport, valid for at least 6 months after your return to Spain. It is your responsibility entirely to have the correct documentation to travel on this cruise.

Two weeks before departure you will receive by email, your cruise ticket. You must print your cruise ticket and present it at the Cruise Terminal in Barcelona upon embarkation. You will be invited to check-in online for the cruise, we suggest that you do NOT do this as it is an easy procedure to complete the checkin formalities in Barcelona upon embarkation.

Your Ryanair flight boarding pass will be available by downloading the Ryanair App (from  your App Store). We will provide you with the booking reference closer to departure. Ryanair insist that you have your boarding pass on your phone.  Your return boarding pass with Vueling Airlines will be sent to you by email. 

For your flight to Barcelona, you can bring one suitcase per person to be checked-in with a maximum weight of 20kgs (25kgs on your return flight). In addition a carry-on bag weighing no more than 5kgs (maximun size 45x35x20cm) that can easily fit underneath the seat in front of you.

No vaccinations are required for this cruise.

There are no compulsory vaccinations for travellers arriving directly from Europe, and extensive travel vaccinations are not normally necessary. However, anyone who feels particularly vulnerable, has an underlying health condition, or simply wants additional reassurance should discuss hepatitis A, typhoid and routine vaccinations with their doctor or travel-health clinic before departure.

MSC for You – we recommend that you download the MSC for You app onto your mobile phone. It will give you lots more information about your cruise and allow you to book restaurants, explore and book excursions and find our evertything that is going on onboard. The app is available from your App Store and available in your own language.

You will be transferred from Barcelona Airport to the ship, travelling time approximately 40 minutes.

You should check-in at Málaga approximately 2 hours prior to departure.

Dining arrangements

The group will be assigned a specific time for dinner each evening and an area in the restaurant will be cordoned off for you. If the time does not suit you, please tell the Mâitre d’Hôtel, who will try to change your reservation. You can use the same area for your breakfast, lunch and dinner, if you wish. 

Barcelona arrangements

Our representatives will meet you after leaving the security area in Barcelona El Prat Airport and transport you to the Barcelona Cruise Terminal. There is no need to label your baggage for cabin onboard MSC Euribia as they will be labelled when taken. from you at the terminal. They will then be delivered to your cabin, usually within an hour or two. During this time, you will have boarded the ship and can start to enjoy all of the onboard facilities, including your cabin.
